Description

Original Character Name: ???
Age: ???

I guess you can call this my first real drawing for 2012.

Can you believe it's my first time drawing, shading, and coloring the rose on the character's hair?

Done in Adobe Photoshop.

This drawing is really cute! The shading and colouring is just splendid on this piece. Well done on that part!
The only thing that seems to be a bit off for me is that the facial features are a bit offside.
I think the eyes should be a tad up more rather than it looking like it's sliding off the face. Then the eyebrows would match the eyes. But the eyebrows right now are placed a bit too high for that simple smiling expression. Eyebrows, eyes and mouth all have to have a matching expression. 'Cause here judging from the placement of the brows, it would look like she is surprised. And from the tender smile from the mouth it would see that she is calm. Calm and Surprised figures don't always suit each other. So just for a head's up, the next time you draw look at the picture and see if you can make the expression yourself and you'll see if it's okay for your standards! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
The shading on the hair is just gorgeous though! Very nice! I also like the softness of the background with compliments the atmosphere. The shading on the shoulders is also quite cute. Just a little thing, the darker part under the collar bones should be blended or blurred a little more to give it a more realistic look.
Overall, the drawing is quite cute with some mistakes on the face. But I believe with a little tweaking it could be perfect!
Thanks!
